Sports tech specialist Sport:80 recognised with prestigious Queen’s Award

Sport:80, a UK-based sports technology provider that designs, delivers and supports innovative cloud-based solutions for governing bodies of sport, has received a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the International Trade category.

The company works with 55 National Governing Bodies of Sport across the UK, US and Ireland.

In recent years, the US has become Sport:80’s largest market accounting for over half of the business’ total revenue, followed by the UK and Ireland, respectively.

International clients include USA Track & Field, USA Weightlifting, USA Archery, USA Water Polo, and Badminton Ireland.

The Sport:80 Platform is used by sports organisations to increase connectivity with their communities. Its powerful CRM functionality and dedicated member portal actively encourage online engagement while providing operational tools to enable governing bodies to improve business efficiency and insight.

Athletes, coaches, officials, fans and clubs can also manage their sporting profiles, renew their membership, manage and update their qualifications, enter competitions, courses and trips, and track results and rankings, among a host of other member-focused features.

Gary Hargraves, CEO of Sport:80, explains: “Winning a Queen’s Award represents one of the proudest moments in our 10-year history and my 40 years in business.

“Our team worked incredibly hard during the pandemic to win new business and deliver projects at home and across the Atlantic, driving our growth to record levels.”

Speaking about the company’s growth plans, Hargreaves adds: “Our growth has been based around three pillars; reputation, thought leadership and innovation. Our strategy for the coming years revolves around strengthening these pillars in the UK, US, and Ireland, as well as expanding into new ones such as the Middle East and South America.”
